The Benefits of Soy
There is no denying that soy is a nutrition powerhouse. But what has researchers intrigued these days is not soy's nutrient density as much as its phytoestrogen profile, particularly its isoflavones and their potential impact on women's midlife health. The two primary isoflavones in soy are genistein and daidzein.

New findings on soy and cancer prevention
A substance found in soybeans may reduce the risk of colon cancer, the third most common form of cancer in the world. Soy glucosylceramide has been found to be effective in reducing the formation and growth of tumour cells in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract in mice, according to research published recently in the Journal of Nutrition.
Can soy fight cancer?
When soy foods were first tied to a lower risk of cancer, consumer publications made the link seem certain. Later when isoflavones a compound presumed to be the key ingredient in soy were added to foods and supplements, we heard in the news that soy might not offer as much protection as hoped. Now many people are unsure what soy can do against cancer.
